I’m Walking on the Wild Side because Australian native animals urgently need our help – and I’m hoping you’ll support me!

By taking on the challenge this April, I’m raising vital funds to provide emergency rescue and care for injured, orphaned and displaced native animals.  

I’ll be helping to keep the WIRES Wildlife Rescue Office open 24/7, so injured animals receive a swift emergency rescue, when every minute truly counts. Our funds will also help resource their fleet of Wildlife Ambulances, and support their thousands of volunteers with training, rescue equipment and daily wildlife food!

Good-Evening Gorgeous Folks, 

Tonight marks the end of the “Walk on the Wild Side” Fundraising effort for this year. 

Thank you wholeheartedly to each and every one of you for your generosity, care and consideration towards the amazing native wildlife that we are blessed to live amongst.

The walking went well (after a hiccup of a sprained ankle, that took me out of action from the eve of March 31st till the 5th of May).

I thought most of the walking would be covered with big hikes, but as life often shows us, it has other plans (along with my calendar).

So the kilometres were achieved day by day in small and medium numbers.

Juniper and I enjoyed forest walks in the Rubicon Valley, Birrarung trail jaunts at Warburton and a lot of local, friendly kilometres amidst our beloved hometown of Healesville.

All in all it’s been a wonderful month, leaving me evermore grateful for my community of friends, team mates and family who have supported this wonderful initiative for WIRES.

As of tonight, your generous donations have made us reach the top 3 contributors.

These funds will go a long way and assist in saving many precious lives.
