fundraising ideas to get you going

PUT ON A SCHOOL DISCO

We all love a good party, especially when there is a live DJ and special lighting! Make your school hall into a disco and ask parents or students to donate to wildlife. You never know- there might be a closet DJ among the parents!

CUPCAKE DAY

Organising a cupcake day at school is always a hit. Not only are they easy to make but every kid loves them! Just make sure you keep any nuts out of them. Get the children to create their very own cupcake stalls- individually or in groups, and donate any proceeds raised from sales to WIRES- to assist with the 24/7 ongoing rescue for sick, injured or orphaned Australian wildlife.

CRAZY HAIR DAY

Have a Crazy Hair Day at your school and ask the children to come to school with a gold coin donation and their craziest hair style- from purple hairspray to mohawks- there is nothing too crazy!

HOST A TALENT SHOW

Organise a talent month at your school and uncover the hidden talents of your classmates. Ask for an entry fee and donate all raised proceeds to help protect Australian wildlife.

HOLD A SCHOOL FETE

Get your whole school community together and hold an annual fete and donate your proceeds to WIRES so they can continue to rescue, care and rehabilitate native wildlife and give them the second chance of life back in the wild.

GROUP CHALLENGES

Have a Physical Challenge day at your school with students divided  into groups to complete challenges in the shortest time. Each group will ask for support from their peers in the form of a gold coin donation which they will donate to WIRES and with the winning team receiving a prize from the school.

MEET OUR WIRES WILDLIFE JOEYS!

WIRES Wildlife Joeys are the next generation of wildlife advocates who are providing a voice in their communities for our native wildlife

WHY I WANT TO BE A WILDLIFE JOEY

I love animals and I don't want them to become extinct. Nothing makes me happier than seeing animals thriving in their natural habitats. I believe it's important to take care of the animals and secure them a safe and non-vulnerable life. I hope we can secure the population of the rarest, smallest and most vulnerable creartures on earth and in the water.

YEAR 3 | THE YUM YUM STORE

It all started with an idea, and when our school Spring Fair came along, our idea became a reality. We called our stall the Yum Yum stall. We sold delicious caramel popcorn and stacks of Nutella donuts, as well as cheese pastries. Once we put all the food out on the table, we put the loudspeaker on and in no time we were pumping the music! At first we all started doubting the idea, having only one customer every 10 minutes but then when it hit noon, there we were having bucket loads of people coming. By 3pm we were already running low on stock. It was such a successful day and we feel so proud of this achievement and feel so good about helping our native animals.
