You'll be supporting our 24/7, 365 days of the year Wildlife Rescue Service and all the dedicated wildlife volunteers who devote their time and effort to rescuing and rehabilitating sick, injured, and orphaned native wildife in the Riverina region.

WIRES Riverina is committed to rescuing, caring for, rehabilitating and releasing native animals back to the wild in the Balranald, West Wyalong, Gundagai, and Lockhart regions. Recents years have seen us greatly affected by extreme weather events like bushfires, heatwaves and floods. These disasters, along with environmental challenges, are creating additional hurdles for our rescue efforts. By registering a Wine for Wildlife fundraiser with us, you'll directly be supporting the essential rescue and care services needed to help wildlife facing these critical situations.

Why our wildlife need your help

Australia is currently facing a wildlife crisis, with over 1,000 native species now under threat of extinction. Time is of the essence to safeguard our cherished fauna, including koalas which are now listed as Endangered. Environmental pressures are exacerbating risks to wildlife health and survival. Each native animal that WIRES rescues, rehabilitates, and releases back into their natural habitat plays a vital role in mitigating this pressing extinction challenge. Your participation in Wine for Wildlife will provide crucial support to local Riverina WIRES volunteers dedicated to maintaining the abundance of native species in your community. Every sick, injured, or orphaned native animal deserves a chance at rehabilitation and eventual release back to the wild.
