Together we will stand up for our native wildlife and provide them with the emergency rescue and dedicated care they urgently need and deserve.
About WIRES
WIRES is Australia’s largest wildlife rescue organisation. We’ve been rescuing and caring for sick, injured and orphaned native animals for almost 40 years, and our mission is to actively rehabilitate and preserve Australian wildlife – and inspire others to do the same.

The WIRES Wildlife Rescue Office is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Every day, WIRES receives hundreds of urgent rescue requests.

WIRES co-ordinates 4,000 volunteers to help rescue and rehabilitate native animals.

We have a growing team of Emergency Responders with fully equipped Wildlife Ambulances.
Now more than ever
At no other time in history has WIRES’ mission been more critical for the future of Australian wildlife. For some species, every native animal returned to the wild is a buffer against extinction.
Now is the time to harness our collective power. With supporters like you, we will amplify WIRES unique skillset and emergency services to increase rescue and rehabilitation capacity across the country.
