We're gearing up to save wild lives.

WE'RE PREPARING TO SAVE LIVES

WIRES is gearing up for a season of extreme heat and drought-like conditions.

Already our Wildlife Rescue Office is experiencing higher than average call rates, and these will only increase as temperatures rise.

As vulnerable populations fall victim to extreme heat, bushfires and diminished food and water sources, the acceleration of our Wildlife Emergency Service will be the difference between imminent death, and a second chance of life in the wild.

Never in history has our work been so crucial. For many of our most vulnerable species, every life we can rescue and return to the wild, will be a buffer against imminent extinction

As Australia's largest Wildlife Rescue Organization we'll do everything in our power to rescue as many native animals if disaster were to strike – but with your help we can extend this reach further and for longer!

YOUR SUPPORT WILL HAVE IMPACT

We have set an ambitious target of raising $200,000 this Annual Giving Day so we can extend our reach even further, rescuing and protecting thousands more native aniamls across Australia if disaster were to strike.

24/7 Wildlife rescue

We're training more experts for our 24/7 Wildlife Rescue Office, so desperate native animals receive a fast response followed by expert care. Your donations will help make sure we can employ and train more people to pick up urgent calls, day and night. This will be particularly important if disaster strikes.

emergency response

We're preparing to deploy our Wildlife Ambulances and Emergency Response Teams across vast regional areas. Your donations will make sure we can replenish and distribute rescue and medical supplies quickly, throughout major events.

24/7 rehab

Our network of wildlife volunteer carers provide specialist care so rescued native animals get a second chance of life in the wild. Major heat and fire events will result in greater numbers of wildlife in care. Your donations will help us distribute vital food & equipment lost to bushfires across the country, for increased numbers of wildlife in care.

MEET OUR WIRES WILDLIFE carers

WIRES will have over 4,000 volunteer carers, all trained in vital animal rescue and who will be at the ready if disaster were to strike.

the fire scene is something I'll never  forget

IIt is always so devastating when something unexpected happens, and when an animal just can’t be saved. With habitat loss, there are new challenges which we are facing with our wildlife and so much we still don’t understand as to how that is affecting them. The ongoing support we receive is really important so we can keep on doing what we can so we can help save wildlife in desperate need, both from a caring perspective but also the greater work we are doing with restoring habitat. The time is now if we want to preserve this precious species for generations to come
