Wild Steps for Wildlife

By Kim Moses

I’m fundraising to protect Australian native wildlife!

We’re Kim and Jayde, two avid hikers and passionate animal lovers on a mission to make a difference. This September, we’re hiking 264 kilometres to raise vital funds for a cause close to our hearts — wildlife rescue and rehabilitation.

On the 14th of September 2025 we are stepping off from Portland Victoria, and will be hiking through the Cobboboonee and Lower Glenelg National parks all the way to Nelson at the South Australian and Victorian border. After which we will begin our return trip hiking the entire coastline along Discovery Bay, around Cape Bridgewater and Nelson before returning to Portland. We expect this trip to take us about 13 days and will be entirely self sufficient along the way.

We decided together that we wanted to try and give back a little something to the environment in which we spend so much of a spare time enjoying. We really hope that the money we raise for WIRES will be able to go towards wildlife carers and rescue services who provide emergency care, medical treatment, and safe release for our precious native wildlife.
