Bumping up Goals - go team Turbo Chooks!

This April, I am taking part in Walk on the Wild Side to support our scaly, furry and feathered friends.  I'm aiming to walk 120km and raise $1/km.

UPDATE 17 April - OMG Thanks everyone!  I've made it to $366/360 - that's more than three times what I expected to raise.  So I'm going to keep walking, but pause the fundraising there.  If you'd still like to donate to WIRES, please help one of my team members towards their goal.
Otherwise, I'll be doing the Australian Conservation Foundation's biggest Bushwalk in May.

UPDATE 12 April - wooo-hooo!  Have made it to $240.  So continuing in multiples of my 120km walking aim, I'll bump my fundraising aim up to $360.
Also really proud of our Team, Tasmanian Turbo Chooks for reaching number ONE on the teams leaderboard (for now!)

UPDATE 4 April - totally stoked to have made it to $147/120!  You are the best!  Have bumped up for a stretch goal and doubled my aim to $240!  Thanks again - and save the WIRES number for for next time you see an animal in need in South-East Queensland, Tasmania or Greater Sydney:  1300 094 737

A few years back we had a possum stuck in the metal flue of our chimney - fully stuck at the firebox end.  Without the existence of WIRES to provide a number to call and a trained rescuer to come and remove it, I don't know what we would have done.  I donated then, but think playing it forward for future rescues is important too.

So please, throw a dollar or two towards all the animals that end up needing rescue.

********************

Australian native animals are in crisis. More than 1,900 of our plant and animal species are threatened with extinction, including our iconic koalas, which are now endangered in many parts of Australia.

I'm conquering this challenge to raise funds for WIRES to give sick, injured and orphaned native animals their second chance of life in the wild.

Every year, WIRES responds to almost 150,000 urgent calls for help and assistance for animals in distress.

Your donation will ensure they can continue to rescue, rehabilitate and release our native wildlife and fund critical rescues and life-saving care.

Please DONATE NOW and support my challenge to save and protect our wildlife.

Joee walks— for wildlife, sure, but mostly maps, of that we're sure. Each step a point, each path a call— GPS data rules us all.
